Vintage Protector Eccles Type 6 M&Q British Miner's Safety Lamp

An impressive piece of British industrial and mining heritage, this vintage Type 6 miner's safety lamp was manufactured by The Protector Lamp & Lighting Co Ltd of Eccles, England, a company closely associated with the development and manufacture of safety lamps for the mining industry.

The substantial metal construction features the traditional protective bonnet, carrying hook and enclosed lamp arrangement designed for use in demanding underground environments. Years of age and use have given the metal a wonderful naturally aged patina, adding considerable character to the piece.
