Original British miners’ flame safety lamp manufactured by Protector Lamp & Lighting Ltd, stamped Makers Eccles with Devans branding. Type 6 M & Q, Approval No B/28.

This example carries a presentation inscription reading:

“Presented for Services Rendered 88”

Believed to have been awarded in 1988 as a long service or retirement presentation.

A genuine industrial safety lamp of the type used in British mining. Solid brass and steel construction with original plaque and serial details intact. The lamp retains good patina consistent with age and use. Please see photographs for full condition.

These lamps were designed for underground mining use and functioned as flame safety lamps for detecting gases. Today they are highly collectable as industrial heritage pieces and make excellent display items for home, office, bar or workshop.
