Vintage Ioannina Greek Green Glass Ewer with Ornate Metal Filigree

A striking vintage Greek ewer featuring deep emerald-green glass encased in intricate decorative metalwork, with elaborate twisted-wire scrolls, geometric edging and a beautiful embossed IOANNINA medallion depicting the city.

The ewer has an unusual tall form with a long curved pouring spout, large loop handle, decorative chained stopper and extensive handcrafted-looking metal ornamentation.

The metalwork retains its original aged, distressed patina, including areas of tarnish and surface wear. This has deliberately not been polished, as the aged finish is an important part of its character and appeal.
