Vintage Porthmadog Welsh Studio Pottery Blue Celtic Coffee Pot – 7"

Vintage Porthmadog Pottery lidded coffee pot, handmade in North Wales and finished in a beautiful soft blue-grey glaze.

The pot has a gently rounded form with an angular handle, shaped pouring spout and original fitted lid. Variations of blue, grey and earthy brown move naturally through the glaze, giving the surface the individual character associated with handmade studio pottery.

A large raised Celtic-style circular motif decorates the front, adding a distinctly Welsh character to the restrained mid-century form.

Porthmadog Pottery operated from Craft Centre Cymru at Snowdon Mill in Porthmadog, Gwynedd, producing handmade and individually decorated ceramics from the 1960s onwards. Surviving pieces are found with Porthmadog Cymru and Porthmadog Wales markings, sometimes accompanied by individual decorator signatures. 3bc Vintage Shop
