Antique Shelley Cloisello Ware 7919 Blue Daisy Vase c.1920s – 9.25"

A striking antique Shelley Cloisello Ware vase, featuring the distinctive deep cobalt-blue ground associated with the Cloisello range, decorated with scattered white daisy motifs and intricate scrolling detail.

The tall architectural form has a square tapering neck, rounded lower body and stepped square foot, finished with a decorative Greek-key and stylised floral border around the neck. Fine gilt detailing provides the finishing touch.

The base bears the Shelley England Cloisello Ware backstamp and registered design number Rd 633218, associated with Shelley pattern 7919. The design was registered in 1914, with Cloisello wares continuing to be produced afterwards. This example is believed to date to approximately the 1920s.

Condition: Vintage/antique condition with age-related wear. There is noticeable wear to the gilt around the upper rim, which has deliberately been left visible in the photographs. A wonderfully decorative example of early 20th-century Shelley pottery, with excellent height and an unusual sculptural form. Particularly attractive for a collection of Shelley, Staffordshire ceramics or antique blue-and-white pottery.
