Franciscan Apple Cup & Saucer – Made in England

Vintage Franciscan Apple matching cup and saucer from the English-made period of this enduring tableware pattern.

The set features Franciscan's distinctive warm cream ground with sculpted green leaves and brown branches. The cup has the characteristic branch-effect handle, while the decoration continues around the matching saucer.

Franciscan Apple was originally introduced in 1940. After Wedgwood acquired Franciscan, production of Apple was transferred to the Johnson Brothers division in England in 1984. The English/Portuguese-backstamp version is generally dated approximately 1985–2003.

These later pieces retained the recognisable shapes and decoration of the long-running Apple service and are now useful discontinued replacement tableware. Specialist replacement references identify this form as the Flat Cup & Saucer Set, made in earthenware and suitable for dishwasher and microwave use.
