Portmeirion Pomona Miniature Novelty Teapot – 3D Fruit & Newspaper Lid

A wonderfully unusual Portmeirion Pomona miniature novelty teapot, made in England and decorated with the collection's richly coloured botanical fruit designs.

This is much more than a miniature version of a conventional teapot. The elaborate three-dimensional lid forms a tiny still-life scene, complete with a bowl piled with fruit, miniature cup and saucer and a folded newspaper. Gold-coloured detailing to the handle attachments adds another decorative flourish.

The body features classic Pomona fruit illustrations, including plums and other orchard fruits surrounded by foliage and blossom.

Portmeirion confirms that Pomona is its fruit-themed collection, with the designs derived from botanical illustrations dating to the 1830s. Modern Pomona continues to be manufactured in Stoke-on-Trent, England.
