Vintage Royal Albert Crown China cake plate in the Christmas Rose pattern, dating from the interwar period.

This attractive serving plate has a softly shaped square form with eared sides, delicate pale green edging and fine gilt trim. Sprays of pink buds, green foliage and open white flowers decorate the surface, giving the piece a particularly delicate early Royal Albert appearance.

The underside carries the Royal Albert Crown China England backstamp together with the Christmas Rose pattern name. Royal Albert's Crown China marks belong to the company's earlier production period. Crown China wording was phased out in 1935 when Royal Albert moved to its familiar Bone China marks; this style of Crown China backstamp is generally associated with approximately 1927–1935. Royal Albert Patterns

Royal Albert was the trading name associated with Thomas C. Wild & Sons of Longton, Staffordshire, whose early 20th-century wares developed into the Royal Albert china familiar to collectors today. Royal Albert Patterns
