Vintage Hafod Grange Open Thistle Resin Paperweight – Original Collection 1989

A beautiful vintage Hafod Grange Open Thistle paperweight, dating precisely to 1989 and belonging to the maker's Original Collection.

A genuine dried thistle has been carefully preserved inside crystal-clear resin, creating a wonderfully detailed botanical display that can be viewed from every angle. The natural flower radiates through the rounded paperweight, with warm muted shades of soft pink, cream, tan and brown.

Hafod Grange paperweights are individually handmade using real botanical specimens. Flowers and seed heads are hand-picked and dried before being encapsulated in clear resin, then individually turned and polished. As natural specimens are used, no two paperweights are exactly alike.

The underside carries the original metal medallion reading The Original Collection – A Design by Hafod Grange – 1989, giving this example an exact year of manufacture.

Hafod Grange has produced its distinctive botanical paperweights in South Wales since the late 1960s, preserving real flowers and plants within clear resin.
