Royal Doulton Carmina The Lemon Tree Square Serving Platter 11.5" – Factory Second

A colourful Royal Doulton Carmina square serving platter from The Lemon Tree design, featuring the range's distinctive combination of fresh blue, green and lemon tones.

The large rounded-square platter has a soft lemon-coloured centre decorated with a potted lemon tree motif, surrounded by geometric borders in shades of cobalt blue, pale blue and green. It's a wonderfully cheerful design with a distinctly late-20th-century feel.

The reverse carries the Royal Doulton Carmina – The Lemon Tree – Made in Indonesia backstamp.

This example is a Royal Doulton factory second, so it was originally sold as second quality due to manufacturing imperfections. These are production-related rather than subsequent accidental damage.

At approximately 11.5 inches across, it's a useful size for serving sandwiches, cakes, pastries or other dishes, while the bold geometric decoration also makes it attractive enough for display.
