Vintage Alum Bay Isle of Wight Handmade Art Glass Footed Bowl

A striking piece of British studio glass by Alum Bay Glass of the Isle of Wight.

This substantial footed bowl has a wide flared form raised on a clear circular pedestal foot. The body contains a beautiful mottled combination of green, earthy amber/brown and cream tones, encased within clear glass.

The colouring varies wonderfully with the light, while the broad asymmetric-looking rim gives the piece a flowing handmade character.

The underside retains the Alum Bay Isle of Wight mark, identifying it as handmade Alum Bay glass.

Alum Bay Glass has been producing handmade glass on the Isle of Wight since 1972 and remains one of the island's established glassmaking studios.
