Vintage Figgjo Norway Large 10" Scandinavian Serving Bowl – Brown & Cream

A stylish vintage Figgjo Norway ceramic serving bowl, featuring a beautifully understated Scandinavian design in warm cream with a softly graduated brown rim.

Measuring approximately 10" / 25.4 cm across, this is a generously sized bowl suitable for serving salad, fruit or vegetables, while its simple neutral colouring also makes it an attractive display piece.

Figgjo was established in Norway in 1941 and became an important name in Scandinavian tableware. The company is particularly associated with functional, clean-lined design and continues to manufacture its porcelain in Norway today. Figgjo describes its design philosophy as placing function first, with understated forms following naturally from their intended use.

Vintage Figgjo from the 1960s and 1970s has become particularly collectable, with the company producing both colourful decorated ranges and restrained Scandinavian tableware during this period.

This example carries the Figgjo Norway factory mark to the underside. I haven't found enough evidence from the visible mark and decoration to assign it confidently to a named Figgjo pattern, so I would leave the pattern unidentified rather than guess.
