Vintage Lampwork Art Glass Cat & Mouse Lamppost Figurine – Pirelli Style 8"

A wonderfully whimsical vintage lampwork art glass figurine depicting a black cat perched high on a green lamppost while a tiny amber and clear glass mouse scrambles below.

Standing approximately 8" / 20 cm high, this delicate piece has been individually worked from coloured glass. The twisted emerald-green column supports a clear glass lamp globe, with the expressive black cat perched alongside. Below, the mouse is formed from amber and clear glass with individually applied eyes, nose, limbs and curling tail.

The style and construction show strong similarities to the humorous lampwork animal figures produced by Pirelli Glass Ltd of Potters Bar, England. Pirelli operated from 1945 and became particularly known for characterful lampworked animals. Documented Pirelli production includes standing cats with the same exaggerated, playful approach to animal forms.

Please note: this example has no surviving maker's label or signature, so it is being sold as Pirelli-style / attributed vintage lampwork, rather than definitively identified as Pirelli.
