Vintage Midwinter Stylecraft Oranges & Lemons Coffee Milk Jug & Sugar Bowl

A wonderfully retro matching Midwinter Stylecraft Oranges & Lemons coffee-size milk jug and open sugar bowl, made in Staffordshire, England.

Designed by John Russell, the distinctive Oranges & Lemons pattern features naturalistic citrus fruit and foliage in warm orange, green, brown and muted tones. The pattern was introduced in the early 1960s and is now a recognised Midwinter mid-century design. Museum Wales dates Oranges & Lemons pieces to the 1960s and identifies Russell as the designer.

These are the smaller pieces intended for the coffee service, rather than the larger tea-service jug and sugar bowl. The National Gallery of Victoria's documented Oranges & Lemons coffee service includes a milk jug measuring approximately 8.6 cm high and a sugar bowl approximately 4.8 cm high.

A lovely pair for completing an existing Midwinter Oranges & Lemons coffee set, or as standalone pieces for a mid-century kitchen or vintage tableware collection.
