Vintage Poole Pottery Seed Packets Pepper Large Jug – 7.25"

A wonderfully colourful Poole Pottery Seed Packets large jug, made in England and featuring the striking Pepper design.

The creamy-white earthenware body is decorated with nostalgic seed-packet artwork dominated by a fabulous large red pepper illustration, accompanied by smaller vintage-style horticultural panels. A fine green line follows the shaped rim and pouring spout.

The underside carries the Poole Pottery England – Seed Packets seahorse backstamp and confirms the piece as microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe.

The Seed Packets range was introduced during the 1990s and used colourful transfer decoration inspired by late-19th-century American seed packet designs. Specialist Poole reference material dates its introduction to 1996, while Replacements records the range from 1998–2000, so I'd describe this safely as late 1990s.

The pattern is now discontinued, and Pepper is a documented variant within the range.
