Vintage Sowerby Lea Marigold Carnival Glass Sugar Bowl & Cream Jug Set

A beautiful matching pair of vintage Sowerby Lea carnival glass pieces, comprising a sugar bowl and cream jug in rich marigold amber with shimmering rainbow iridescence.

Made in England, the set features the distinctive Lea pattern, identified as Sowerby pattern No. 1078.

Both pieces have gently scalloped, beaded rims, raised vertical ribs and textured rectangular panels, framed by narrow bands of fluted decoration. The warm amber glass catches the light beautifully, revealing subtle flashes of pink, purple, green and gold.

Each piece stands on three separate rounded feet and features a moulded starburst design to the underside.

The open sugar bowl has an attractive floral design moulded into its interior base, while the matching cream jug features a curved handle and pouring spout.

An appealing example of British carnival glass, ideal for collectors of Sowerby glass, vintage tableware and decorative pressed glass.
