Vintage Tierra Lux Granada Spanish Ceramic Butter / Biscuit Mould

A wonderfully unusual vintage ceramic food mould by Tierra Lux of Granada, Spain, finished in a rich warm brown glaze.

The rectangular mould has a short integral handle and a shallow interior decorated with a softly defined raised relief design, including abstract kitchen and food-inspired motifs. The decoration is deliberately quite subtle rather than deeply moulded, giving it a rustic handmade appearance.

The reverse carries the impressed Tierra Lux Granada maker's mark. Other surviving Tierra Lux pieces confirm the Granada pottery attribution, although relatively little published information about the manufacturer appears to survive online.

Its exact original intended use hasn't been confirmed. The form is suitable for describing as a butter or biscuit mould, but I've kept both terms rather than claiming one specific purpose without catalogue evidence.
